...Equius.  You grinned, trying to hide any of your previous apprehension at visiting your secret crush's hive.

"Hi, Equius," you say raising a hand and giving a tiny wave.  "Can I come in?"

The high-blooded troll merely looked you up and down, his expression unreadable.  Oh come on!  I thought we were past the fact that I'm considered a low blood!  Your brows furrowed, surely he was going to let you in?  He was the one who invited you over, after all.

Equius finally gave you a curt nod and stood back to open the door wider for you to enter his hive.  He turned back and closed the door and locked it before turning around with his STRONG muscular arms crossed.  His expression was unreadable once more, although you could have sworn that you saw excitement glinting in his eyes behind his cracked shades.  Maybe he was excited to see you?  Or was just excited for what he'd planned?

You stood awkwardly in front of the blue blood, rubbing your arm.  Just as you were about to ask Equius what he'd invited you over to his hive for he spoke.  "______.  Are you ready?"

Your brows creased slightly as you looked up at him.  "Um...for what, exactly?  You didn't really mention what we'd be doing yesterday on PesterChum."

"So I didn't," he acknowledged with a little nod before walking off somewhere into his hive.  Rolling your eyes you knew you had no choice but to follow, questioning your choice in trolls.  Equius brought you to a large metal door at the end of a hallway.  You quirked a brow and glanced at the large troll who only gestured for you to cover your eyes.  You let a little sigh out of your nose but couldn't surpress a slight smile at the normally serious troll's almost childish behavior.

You covered your eyes and heard the large metal door creak open before Equius gently held onto your shoulders and led you into the room.  The unexpected contact made you blush behind your hands and then you heard the door close behind you.  Your heart pounded as you risked a peek between two fingers.  The room was pitch black.  Your blush grew even wider and you frantically wondered what you two were doing in a dark room.

Suddenly bright light flooded into the room and you flinched, moving your fingers back over your eye.  Equius' deep voice spoke from behind you, "you may uncover your eyes, now".  You reluctantly obeyed, blinking in the bright light when your eyes focused on what was in the middle of the room.  For a second you said nothing at all, just stood still.  Then your eyes lit up and you rushed forward.

Standing in the center of the room was a breathtakingly amazing aircraft.  It had a (f/c) coat of paint on its metal body.  It was no bigger than a small car, and had no apparent wings, but you recognized what it was right away.  You brought your hand excitedly along one side of the craft and saw where the wings would extend outward from the vehicle.  You walked around the the front and saw a door on the opposite side.  You pulled it open and went inside.  It was one of those aircrafts where you lied down inside of it and controlled it with a panel of buttons and two, well, to you they looked like joysticks.

You lied down on the seat on your stomach, grabbing hold of the sticks and looking out the window.  It was amazing.  Equius, who'd been watching your excitement and fascination smiled a little to himself.  It was nice seeing you happy.  You'd been a little down since your friends stopped hanging out with you, and it had bothered Equius to see you looking so subdued.

He walked into the room and around to the side of the aircraft that had the door.  You looked over at him as he stood in the doorway with his hands held behind his back.  "Are you ready for what's next?" he queried.  Your head spun to face him and your (e/c) eyes sparkled with joy.

"You mean-" you breathed.

"Yes," Equius said suddenly holding up a remote and pointing at the ceiling which opened up thus exposing the dark sky.  You practically shook with joy and found it difficult to pay attention to Equius as he explained the different controls to you.  You calmed for a second and stole a glance at Equius.  His face had a faint blue tint to it.  Wait, is Equius blushing?  You also noticed a small smile had appeared on his face.  A thought burst into your head that maybe Equius actually enjoyed spending time with you, that it made him happy to be around you.

Your eyes widened as you continued to stare until Equius straightened up.  "Did you get all that?" he asked.  You nodded quickly, trying to look anywhere but his deep blue eyes.  He stood back and motioned toward a jetpack lying in one corner.  "I'll be looking out for you on the roof of my hive just in case you are met with trouble."  You were genuinely awestruck that Equius was going to such lengths to make you happy and to make sure that you were safe while doing so.

Equius then stood back and saluted to you as you grinned again and took the controls into your hands.  You pressed a button and the door swung shut.  You pressed a few more and the craft started up.  Boosters lifted you through the roof and you turned the craft pointing away from Equius' and Vriska's hives.  Then you pressed a button that made the wings come out and the boosters moved to point behind the craft, pushing you forward.

~~~
Equius pulled on his jetpack and flew up to the roof of his hive.  He watched as you took off right away, the shadow of the craft flitting across the ground.  The machine's paint reflected the light of the moons and a trail of smoke came from the blue and purple fire that came out of the plane.  He was surprised at how quickly you'd mastered the machine and he found himself holding his breath as you skillfully sped through canyons and around spires of rock, banking hard first one way than the other.
Equius took a moment to admire the craft that he'd built, it handled like a dream.  That's when he caught a glimpse of your face light up by the control panels inside the plane as you flew back past his hive.  Your eyes were wide and your grin was wider.  He felt the blush from earlier returning to his cheeks.  He'd been heart broken when Aradia chose Sollux over him and despite Nepeta's best efforts of trying to introduce him to other trolls, he'd felt very lonely.  That's about the time when you admitted to him that your friends had pretty much abandoned you on this planet and he'd instantly felt a connection with you.
He was brought back from his thoughts as he saw that you had brought the nose of the plane straight up and you were rocketing upward into the dark sky.  Suddenly one of the boosters blew a huge ball of orange fire and something fell off of the plane.  Even at this distance, he could see red lights flashing inside the craft and felt his blood-pumper race with panic.  This wasn't supposed to happen!
The craft's engine went off and paused before it came plummeting back toward the ground.  Without hesitating, he shot off from the roof and toward the craft.
~~~

Your teeth were gritted as you desperately pounded buttons and flicked switches, the sticks had stopped steering and you were now falling toward the rocky cliffs.  Your mind was spinning much like the falling craft and you could only clench your eyes shut as you hit the edge of the cliff hard, the crunching of metal filling your ears, and you were falling again.  Your eyes flew open and you saw that the plane was pointed up at the sky as you were falling toward...what?  Was there more rock beneath you or had you gone far enough to be over the water?  You weren't sure but you prayed fervently that it would be a quick, painless death if you were still over solid ground.

Suddenly a loud slap sounded in your ears and you opened your eyes again.  It had gotten even darker all of a sudden and you felt water dripping onto your head.  You looked up and saw a small gash in the roof.  You had fallen in the water!  Your relief was cut short however, when you noticed cracks spreading on the window and you felt more water trickling then pouring into the plane.  You thrashed around, trying to push the door open, but it was jammed shut.  You wanted to scream, but who would hear you?  You were about to pound on the window, but knew that that would just cause it to break and let more water in.  Besides, you thought that your leg was stuck, as the back of the craft and been bent and it was squeezing your leg, cutting off the blood flow.

You looked back up desperately.  Equius, where are you!?

~~~
Equius felt his blood-pumper sink as the dead craft did the same after a sickening crash against the edge of a cliff.  He dove through the air, his black hair flapping madly behind him, his glasses threatening to come off.  Just then he broke through the water and began swimming madly toward you.  He arrived just in front of the craft to see that water had poured into it and that you weren't moving.  For a moment he thought that his blood-pumper had stopped and memories of you laughing and smiling flashed in front of his eyes.
Then he shook his head angrily and raised a mighty STRONG fist and swung it at the window.  It practically exploded at the impact and glass shards went flying through the water.  He then swam closer and tugged at you, but your leg was stuck.  The sagittarius knew that he was running out of time.  He reached in a well-muscled arm and pushed the roof of the craft back up.  It made a loud popping noise as the dent was reversed and he easily picked you up, kicking toward the surface of the water, black dots clouding his vision.
He broke through and paddled sideways toward a bank of rocks.  He dragged himself out while clinging onto your drenched body.  He laid you out and looked desperately at you.  He knew what one had to do to get someone breathing again, but he was terrified he'd crush you with all of his strength.
He clenched his eyes shut and then opened them, a determined look on his face.  He sat up next to you and carefully pressed down on your chest.  He bit his lip when he felt how fragile you were under his STRONG hands.  He lifted his hand again and then looked up to your (s/t) face.  He took in a deep breath and then bent down to your face.  He hesitated briefly before pushing his lips onto yours and breathing into your mouth.
He lifted his head again, blue eyes wide with panic, and was distraught to see that you still weren't moving.  He listened to your chest, trying to pick out the beating of your heart, but there was nothing.  He once again tried pushing on your chest.  His eyes flitted back to your face, but nothing happened.  You weren't moving or breathing.  He breathed into your mouth again and went back to pushing on your chest.  He noticed a slight bruise appearing from where your shirt cut low.
He flinched back and gripped handfuls of his hair in agony.  His eyes slid shut and he felt his body be racked by sobs of remorse.
~~~

It was dark.  Your ears were filled with the deafening sounds of silence.  You were cold and your body was stiff and heavy.  You felt a slight throbbing in your head and a pressure on your chest.  You tried to open your eyes but you were exhausted.  For a terrifying moment, you couldn't breathe.  You summoned up all of your strength and opened your aching eyes, gasping for air.  Instead you abruptly sat up and began coughing water out onto a rocky shore.

Your vision was fuzzy and it took a second for your hearing to return.  You heard a faint gasp from behind you.  It sounded really far away and you turned in confusion to see a large troll frozen staring at you.  Blue tears were streaming down his face and intense blue eyes were locked on your own.

Suddenly he threw himself forward and hugged you tightly.  Too tight!  You struggled and gasped as the high blood quickly drew back and looked at you, panicking again.  "O-oh ______," he cried, "I'm so sorry for what I caused!"  Your brows furrowed and then your eyes flew open wide as memories flooded into your head:  arriving at Equius' hive, him leading you to a large metal door, darkness then light, the craft, the sky above you, controls lighting up in your face, a blush on Equius' cheeks, the joy of flight, then a loud boom, a sensation of falling, a loud slap, water, then black.

"_-______?" Equius whimpered.

Your mouth twitched open, and you raised a heavy, feeble hand toward Equius' cheek to wipe away a tear.  He held your hand gently with his own against his cheek.  "E-Equius," you croaked.  "You saved me."

His eyes lit up and he pulled you close, more carefully this time.  You clung to him as he was racked by more sobs.  He was warm.  You closed your eyes and breathed in his smell.  After a moment you broke apart again and he faced you, his blue eyes puffy, the gold of his eyes tinged slight red.  "I-I thought I'd l-lost you!  I thought I'd sent you to your death!"

You gave a faint smile and held his face in your hands.  "S-silly, you can't get rid of me that easily."  His eyes shone with wetness before he ducked down and planted a kiss on your lips.  You were surprised, then you felt warmth spreading from your heart and a new strength flooded into you.  You sat up a little and held Equius' STRONG body against yours, kissing him back.  Your lips melded together and you smiled into the kiss.

You broke apart after a moment and opened your eyes.  You just realized that Equius' glasses were gone and guessed that he'd lost them in the water.  An intense light had entered his gaze as it bore down into your own and you returned it.  He then stood and lifted you into his arms, carrying you back to his hive.

~~~
You had just showered and were sitting on a soft blue couch, looking out of one of the many windows in Equius' hive.  You were wearing a loose pair of his shorts and a tank top.  Your clothes were currently being dried and you were sitting wrapped in a soft, black blanket of his.  In your hands you held a steaming cup of tea.
The sun was starting to rise; the sky was streaked with green and the water and the rocks were glowing with the dawn light.  Waves crashed in the distance and wind sighed around the cliffs.
A soft sound of footsteps came from behind you, and you turned to see Equius in another tank top and pair of shorts.  His wet hair had been neatly combed.  He'd taken a shower right after you and had found another pair of glasses, which he already cracked.  He came into the room and sat down next to you.  You placed your cup onto a side table and then leaned into Equius to warm the two of you up.  He stretched and yawned, his eyelids drooping heavily as he turned to look at you.
You looked quietly back up and he saw a warmth in your (e/c) eyes.  He wrapped his arms around you and you rested your head on his shoulder.  He sighed and you looked back up again, quizzically.  "_____," he began.  You nodded, signalling for him to go on.  He took another breath and faced you, his voice was lowered.  "______, I must ask something of you.  You see, ever since the first moment we met, I've felt drawn to you.  I bask in the glow of your eyes and the warmth of your smile.  Your beauty is unmatched by any woman I've ever seen.  I find it hard to speak or think around you and my blood-pumper quickens whenever you enter a room.  I can't deny it anymore, I'm flushed for you, and I'd like you to do me the honor of being my matesprit."  His intense gaze had forced the air from your lungs and you felt that you were drowning again.
You sat up a little straighter so that you were more level with the tall troll and you reached your arms around him, drawing him under the blanket with you.  You hugged him tightly and felt his sculpted chest through his shirt.  You left a peck on his cheek and whispered, "Equius, I'd like nothing more."  He sighed and closed his eyes, purring as you cuddled up to his warmth again and drifted soundly to sleep.
Girl, you're lucky Equius was there to save your butt. >:I
